Frequently Asked Questions about Mesotherapy

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a medical specialty that uses microinjections of conventional medications, homeopathic medications, and vitamins just under the skin into the "mesoderm."  The technique was formulated by Dr. Pistor in France in the early 1950s and has been continually revised and improved upon since that time. Dr. Quinn, Medical Director of Enhanced Image Medspa, PLC, trained under Dr. Greib, who trained with Alain Lajeunie, the leading instructor of this therapy in France.

What are the advantages of Mesotherapy?
There are many advantages of Mesotherapy including no painful surgery, no scarring, no extended recovery, natural looking results, and less expense than traditional modalities. While liposuction removes fat cells, Mesotherapy removes fat from the cells. Subsequent weight gain after liposuction results in an abnormal distribution of fat in the remaining cells of the face, neck, arms, and back...a problem not seen with Mesotherapy.

What does Mesotherapy treat? Mesotherapy is especially effective for smoothing cellulite and causing a gentle weight reduction. For areas that require more weight reduction or sculpting, Austrian Lipodissolve is more effective. Mesotherapy can be applied to the face and neck in what is called a Le Mesolift. Le Mesolift can help replenish the substance called Hyaluronic acid, which is what gives youthful skin its soft, hydrated, healthy look. Le Mesolift also replenishes an assortment of essential vitamins and minerals to the skin.

How mant treatments will I need and what is the cost?
This will vary depending upon your goals. Most treatment courses involve 8-12 treatments done at 1-2 week intervals. Cost is reflected in the size of the area to be treated and the cost of the necessary medications, usually totaling about $350 per treatment. In cases that require multiple treatments, medications and supplies can be ordered in bulk resulting in significant discounts to our clients.
